Why choose Cardio for your Flat Stomach Exercises

Obviously, if you are trying to get that flat stomach or attempting to shape those love handles a little bit more you have to use some specific exercise routines that improve the chances of achieving your goals. While maintaining a healthy diet, weight training and getting stability with your metabolism are all important to getting and maintaining a flat stomach, cardiovascular conditioning and exercising is a more than vital component of your training.

Cardiovascular exercise or “aerobic” exercise consists of aerobics that use your natural oxygen intake to help strengthen your muscles. While some of these calisthenics are very specialized, others are simple activities like playing tennis, jogging or swimming. These and many others will be outlined below, and you will soon be on your way to obtaining a flat stomach and losing those love handles. There are several things to keep in mind here. Firstly, know your limit. Do not over work yourself. If you are out of shape to begin with, start slow. If you recently have had heart problems, have had weight problems, or if you are pushing 40 years old, take it easy on yourself and gradually work into some of the more difficult work outs. If you startto feel pain when you are running, you may have shin splints. Click here for more information

Here is a list of some common cardiovascular work outs that you may or may not have known about.

1) Starting with simple running or jogging, put on a pair of track or running shoes and head out to your local track or create your own routes on the city streets. Start from a small amount of mileage and then increase that as your become more comfortable. While this may not seem like it will help get you that flat stomach and rock hard abs, you will be surprised how much it helps your overall physical fitness.

2) In addition to jogging or running, if you are getting older or just want to start a little easier, try doing speed walking.

3) Swimming and bike riding can also be included in cardiovascular work outs. Watch the pounds drop in no time.

4) If you prefer to be in the gym using machines, there are a few different ones that will help you obtain that goal of getting rock hard abs and a flat stomach. To start, hop onto the treadmill and do some running and gradually increase the machine’s difficulty. You could also hop on the stationary bike to simulate riding a bike on the streets or trails. Both are effective ways of maximizing your cardiovascular workouts.

Graduating from those, move on up to the rowing machine or the step stair machine that surely will give you the burn you are looking for in these oxygen-aided exercises.

5) Jumping rope is also a great way of getting those flat stomachs and abs.

Head down to the track, or just get yourself a pair of running shoes and you are on your way to the toned body you have always wanted.
